BIDDEFORD, Maine – Daniel Winslow was involved in every goal, including scoring a hat trick, to lead #9 University of New England past #14 Salve Regina University, 5-2, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup at the Harold Alfond Forum on Friday.
The three-goal performance was the second for Winslow in a Nor'easter uniform, as he previous did it in the season-opener last year against Nichols. It is the 20
th hat trick or greater in the history of the hockey program.
The UNE (4-1-0, 4-1-0 CCC) offense started quickly as

Collin Heinold made it 2-0 with 7:31 to play in the period as he blasted a one-timer into the back of the net from the top circle with help from Winslow and Elias [

Joseph Kline trimmed the deficit in half for Salve Regina (3-1-1, 3-1-0 CCC) in the opening minute of the second period.
Winslow quickly answered with his first of the night as he stuffed in the rebound off a shot by
Dawson Ellis just under three minutes into the frame [
Watch]. Winslow then put the Nor'easters ahead 4-1 with 9:58 to play in the second with a feed from Devine during an odd man rush [
Watch]. Elias also added his third assist of the night on the goal.
The Seahwaks scored in the first minute of the third period as well as Hoon Kim to make it 4-2. Winslow completed the his monster night with a power-play goal with 7:19 to play in the game as he toyed with the defender before ripping a wrist shot for the score. [

UNE out-shot Salve Regina 36-33 on the night, but the visitors did hold a 16-11 advantage in the third period. Billy Girard made 31 saves in the victory. Kohl Reddy also had 31 stops for the Seahawks.
The teams are back in action at St. George's Rink in Middletown, R.I. tomorrow at 7 p.m.
