Results

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- With a team score of 616, the University of New England took 23rd place out of 33 squads in the 2022 NCAA Division III East Men's Cross Country Championship at Bowdoin College on Saturday (Nov. 12).

The country's 2nd-ranked program, MIT, accounted for runners 2-5 at the finish and scored an impressive 21 to capture the region's automatic berth into next weekend's national championship race in Michigan. Bates College (72), Colby College (82), and Tufts University (116) -- the region's other nationally-ranked groups -- filled out the next three spots, while the host Polar Bears (166) claimed fifth.

Tyler Morris of Colby won the individual portion by looping the 8K course in 24:55, which was 30 seconds in front of the pack of Engineers.

Crossing the line, practically side-by-side, to pace the UNE effort was Sebastian Zeman (83rd; 28:33.0) and Kyle Boucher (84th; 28:33.4). Similarly, Nolan Alexander (140th; 30:10.1) and Kevin Jasani (141st; 30:10.9) paired up to come next, and Griffin Kaplan (177th; 31:34.2) was fractions ahead of Jackson Stone (178th; 31:34.8) to log the final Nor'easter points.
