BIDDEFORD, Maine --
Nina Parziale led three all-conference efforts for the University of New England as the Nor'easters took the runner-up spot in the 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Women's Cross Country Championship, which was contested Saturday afternoon (Oct. 29) at Rotary Park.
Suffolk University snagged its second title in as many years since joining the league, accounting for half of the top 10 and totaling 33 points. UNE (74), following a streak of seven straight crowns from 2012-18, has finished in the second position each of the last three tries. Roger Williams University (79) and Endicott College (95) rounded out the initial half of the scoring squads.
Gordon College's Rachel Brennan backed up her 2021 individual win with another CCC Runner of the Year performance, besting the field of 87 runners around the 6K course with a time of 22:55.
Parziale (23:21) was 26 seconds behind Brennan, and 24 clear of Katelynn Brunt from Suffolk, becoming the fifth runner in UNE program history to place second in the CCC meet.
The Nor'easters received All-CCC races from
Haley Slattery (12th; 24:50) and
Kelsee Gladu (13th; 24:54), as well. For Gladu, it marks a second year in-a-row with conference recognition. UNE's score was completed by
