BOSTON -- Nina Parziale clocked the second-fastest time of the day to guide the University of New England women's cross country team to a 3rd-place showing out of the 22 institutions running Saturday afternoon (Oct. 15) in the Suffolk University Invitational at Franklin Park.

The Nor'easters only finished behind a pair of Division I squads, in Northeastern University (23) and Boston University (56), settling on 139 points. Keene State College was next at 166, and the host Rams rounded out the top five at 177.

Just one runner from the field of 179 bested Parziale (23:33) around the 6K course, and that was Madison Neuner of Northeastern (22:58).

UNE's score was bolstered by Haley Slattery (21st; 24:46), Kelsee Gladu (27th; 25:08), Abbey O'Hern (44th; 26:08), and Jessie Martin (52nd; 26:31).

The Nor'easters get two weeks off the prepare for the 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship, which will be run October 29 (12 p.m.) at Rotary Park.
