Sebastian Zeman and
Kyle Boucher led the University of New England men's cross country team on Saturday (Oct. 15) in the Suffolk University Invitational, as the Nor'easters finished in the 8th position on the 8K course at Franklin Park.
Division I Boston University accounted for the top four competitors and scored 17 to take the title from the field of 22 squads, while Plymouth State University (82) and the host Rams (115) occupied the next two spots. Those first four Terriers were a mere six seconds apart, with Moritz Ebbeskotte's 25:33 topping the group.
The Nor'easters ended up between Endicott College (197) and Gordon College (247) with 236 points.
Within the 217 collegiate runners, Zeman was 39th (27:58) and Boucher was 40th (27:59). UNE's score was completed by
Kevin Jasani (62nd; 28:49),
Nolan Alexander (68th; 29:08), and
Jack Curry (73rd; 29:15).
The Nor'easters get two weeks off the prepare for the 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship, which will be run October 29 (1 p.m.) at Rotary Park.
