Salma Bezzat,
Meghan Smith, and
Emily Ramsey each accounted for two tries at the University of New England women's rugby team drilled Colby-Sawyer College by a 51-5 margin on Saturday afternoon (Sep. 4) at Mercer Field.
Bezzat and Smith (also two conversions) factored in 24 of UNE's initial 29 points. On Ramsey's second score, which made it 44-0 in the 2nd half, Bezzat added a conversion of her own.
Brianna Dargin,
Alyssa Ehrenfried, and
Chloe Duchene tallied the other tries for the Nor'easters, who maintained possession for most of the day and were sound when the defense was called upon.
Sophia Zaragoza put the Chargers on the board late in the match.
UNE is slated to entertain West Chester University of Pennsylvania next Sunday (10 a.m.) at Blue Storm Stadium.
