BOSTON -- Tony Chase placed 9th individually to lead the University of New England men's cross country team at the Suffolk University Classic on Friday afternoon (Sep. 3) at Franklin Park. UNE finished 5th in the 10-team field.

Brown University (19), Harvard University (61), Suffolk (70), and Roger Williams University (107) bested the Nor'easters (153) in the final ranks.

The Bears accounted for six of the top eight competitors, including winner Evan Sherman with a 5K time of 15:31. Matyas Csiki-Fejer paced the host Rams with a runner-up showing out of the 102 racers.

Chase crossed the line in 16:26 for UNE. Nolan Alexander (37th; 18:03), Jeff Waters (39th; 18:12), Jack O'Connor (44th; 18:18), and Xander Vitarelli (46th; 18:21) followed to complete the Nor'easter score.

UNE will be at home (Rotary Park) next Saturday for the Ron Ouellette Invitational.
