BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin College defeated the University of New England, 41-12, in National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) action on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Nor'easters used multiple forward phases and possessions to score first in the 9th minute as Alyssa Ehrenfried went in for the try. The Polar Bears responded and controlled the rest of the first half. Bowdoin led 19-5 at halftime.
 
Melissa Smith added a late try for UNE in the second half helped by an offload from Brianna Dargin. Smith converted on the kick attempt.. Bowdoin was able to break away with two tries down the stretch for the final margin.
 
The Nor'easters return home for Homecoming Weekend on Friday night at UNE Blue Storm Stadium against Norwich at 7:30 p.m.
