BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Endicott College overcame an early deficit with the help of two goals from both Meaghan Hogan and Olivia Lampasona to come away with a 6-2 result against the University of New England field hockey team in an exhibition contest Saturday evening (Apr. 24) at UNE Blue Bolt Field.
The Nor'easters struck first just 2:29 into the match when
Bailey Lynch tipped home a feed from
Jillian Lachapelle. Hogan and Lampasona answered before the end of the 1st quarter to give the visitors a 2-1 edge.
That spread held late into the 3rd frame (43rd minute), until Jenna Seibold extended the margin to 3-1. Lampasona got another just over three minutes into the 4th.
Kate Lindmark finished off a nice pass from
Reanna Boulay to cut into the deficit (4-2) with 4:25 left, however the Gulls countered just 73 seconds later on a tally by Lily Tordone, assisted by Sydney Poulin. Hogan from Lampasona capped the scoring with 2:16 on the clock.
Allison Wales made nine stops between the pipes for Endicott, including five in the final period as UNE applied pressure from a handful of penalty corners.
Liz Sargent totaled seven saves for the Nor'easters.
