BIDDEFORD, Maine --
Erica Dimmick and
Sarah Kohl each claimed individual events while also leading a relay group to first place as the University of New England women's track & field team took on Endicott College on Sunday (Apr. 18) at the Biddeford High School Track.
Dimmick won the 400-meter (1:03.11) over a Gulls trio that was paced by Amanda Recupero, 0.83 seconds back. Kohl topped the 800-meter by nearly 12 seconds with a time of 2:39.68. The pair then ran the final two legs of the 4x400-meter relay which clocked 4:44.55, after the initial sections by
Rachel Pion and
Megan Fecteau.
Dani Jewell posted an 11:46.46 for second position in the 3000-meter, which featured the largest field (8) in the meet.
Pion registered second in the 100-meter (13.54), a mere 0.13 off the lead time of Endicott's Hevyn Pray. The separation between Pray and Pion was 0.77 in the 200-meter (Pion 28.60), with Recupero in the middle.
Sydni Lehr had jumps of 8.97m (29'5.25") in the triple and 4.32m (14'2.25") in the long to wind up second and third, respectively. Both efforts were roughly nine inches short of the Gulls' Kelsey Hunter.
