Nor'easters compete in first-ever meet

WENHAM, Mass. -- The University of New England women's track & field team raced for the first time in program history on Saturday (Apr. 10) in the Gordon College Invitational at the Brigham Athletic Complex. The five-team meet also included Endicott College, Suffolk University, and Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Erica Dimmick claimed 2nd place in the 400-meter (1:04.21), a little less than one second behind the top spot and Suffolk's Jocelyn Trisciak (1:03.27).

Rachel Pion took 3rd in both the 100-meter (13.55) and 200-meter (28.24), not far off the pace set by Suffolk's Amanda Walden (13.08 and 26.84). Each time, Endicott's Hevyn Pray finished in the middle.

Dani Jewell was the first Nor'easter across the line in the 1500-meter (5:27.67; 3rd) and the 800-meter (2:38.81; 4th). Kailey Uresk registered 5th in the 800-meter (2:39.56) and 6th in the 1500-meter (5:39.75).

Sydni Lehr placed 3rd in both the long jump (4.70m / 15'5'') and triple jump (9.27m / 30'5'').

UNE is slated to host Endicott next Sunday.
