BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England women's swimming team concluded its abbreviated virtual season on Saturday (Mar. 20) at the Campus Center Pool with a championship-style invitational.

Haley Griffin and Katie Durrua led the way with four individual wins apiece. Kelsey Moulton chalked up three and Olivia Roy had a pair.

Griffin topped the 50-backstroke in 30.24, shaving 1.10 off her previous personal best. She added the 100-backstroke (1:06.23) and the 100-freestyle (59.20), and touched in front of Durrua (-1.49) with a 2:06.11 in the 200-freestyle.

Durrua captured three close races, in the 50-butterfly (28.26), 100-butterfly (1:04.38), and 100-IM (1:07.15). Moulton was just behind Durrua in the 50-fly (-0.33) and 100-IM (-0.28), as was O.Roy in the 100-fly (-0.31). Griffin was also right there (-0.70) in the 50-fly. Durrua first clocked a 5:40.32 for the 500-freestyle triumph.

In addition to winning the 100-breaststroke (1:17.63), Moulton posted 34.87 in the 50-breaststroke and 26.98 in the 50-freestyle to register victories. The 50-breast had O.Roy (-0.66) and Mikayla Sargent (-1.08) not far behind, and Jamie Roy was next after Moulton in the 50-free (-1.08) -- when spots two through six were a mere 0.77 seconds apart.

O.Roy took 1.41 off her personal best to claim the 200-IM (2:30.25), and later secured the 200-breaststroke (2:48.44).

Nicole Senechal won the 1,000-freestyle in 12:52.08, slightly more than five seconds ahead of Taylor Gibson, who then picked up first-place in the 200-backstroke (2:32.33). Korianne Moore had a similar result with a 5:34.81 in the 400-IM.

All told, J.Roy swam five personal records in UNE competition, and O.Roy had four of her own. Moulton and Alex Kendall each checked off a couple.

Kheara Zito, Sophie Piette, Sarah Dalton, and J.Roy turned in the top time in the 200-freestyle relay (1:54.27). Griffin, Sargent, Durrua, and Haleigh Kology formed the leading group in the 400-medley relay (4:34.46), Moore, Moulton, O.Roy, and Piette combined for the 200-medley relay (2:04.31), and Durrua, Griffin, Kology, and Moulton teamed up for the 400-freestyle relay (4:06.54).
