Nor’easters shutout Huskies, 2-0, in road matchup

GORHAM, Maine – The University of New England blanked the University of Southern Maine, 2-0, in women's ice hockey action at the USM Ice Arena on Saturday afternoon.
 
Jessie Scott opened the scoring with her second goal of the season as Kyra Yu found her at the 10:37 mark of the first period. Scott now sits at 34 career goals, just two behind Emily Corrales (2013-17) for the most in program history.
 
The Nor'easters doubled their lead 7:17 into the second period as Bella Crugnale found the back of the net. Carolyn Curley and Avery Lutrzykowski each assisted on the goal.
 
Julia Benjamin posted 15 saves for her second shutout of the Huskies this season. Haley McKim had 29 stops for the hosts. UNE outshot USM 31-15 overall, including a 14-2 margin in the second period.
