BIDDEFORD, Maine –
Carolyn Curley broke a 1-1 tie with just under 10 minutes to play in the final period to push the University of New England past Southern Maine, 2-1, at the Harold Alfond Forum on Sunday afternoon.
The Nor'easters held a 1-0 lead entering the final period. Eryn Taber put home a rebound for the Huskies with 10:51 remaining to knot the score.
Kyra Yu began the game-winning scoring chance for UNE as she picked up a loose puck near center ice. She found Curley in front of the net for the go-ahead score.

McKenna Remillard gave UNE its first lead with 3:20 remaining in the opening period as the Nor'easters once again forced a turnover in their offensive zone.
Avery Lutrzykowski and
Abbi Charvat assisted on the early goal.

Shots favored the Nor'easters 25-20 on the afternoon.
Julia Benjamin stopped 19 shots for UNE, while Haley McKim had 23 saves for Southern Maine.
The Nor'easters and Huskies will play again on Saturday, Feb. 27 in Gorham at 12 p.m.
