BIDDEFORD, Maine – #8 Endicott College earned a 3-1 victory over #10 University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's ice hockey action at the Harold Alfond Forum on Saturday night.
Noah Strawn found the back of the net for a power play goal with a blast from the blue line at the 5:11 mark of the first period to give the Gulls a 1-0 lead at intermission. Andrew Kurapov poked the puck away from UNE goaltender
Billy Girard IV behind the net and wrapped it around into the empty net for a shorthanded goal to extend the advantage to 2-0 with 9:33 to play in the second.

Justin Dixson in front of the net. Dixson lifted it past Conor O'Brien to cut the lead in half at the 8:07 mark of the second period. [

The goal gave the Nor'easters some energy as the shot differential, which had clearly favored the Gulls to that point, began to narrow. UNE doubled up Endicott 12-6 on shots in the second period and each team had 17 at the intermission.
Cam Speck put the game out of reach with an empty net goal from the Gulls defensive end with less than a minute remaining.
Endicott (3-1-1, 2-1-1 CCC) held a slim 29-27 advantage in shots on the night. Girard IV and O'Brien each made 26 in goal.
UNE (2-1-1, 2-1-1 CCC) returns to action Friday night at home against Suffolk at 7 p.m.
