BURRILLVILLE, R.I. –
Shannon Nadeau scored two first period goals to help the University of New England women's ice hockey team past Nichols, 2-1, in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) play at Levy Rink on Saturday.
Nadeau tallied an unassisted goal to start the night at the 9:42 mark of the opening period. She added her second 3:08 later with help from
Alyssa Roof and
Meagan Accardi as the Nor'easters took a 2-0 lead into intermission.
The score would remain until Jessica Gossas-Moberg buried a power-play goal with 13:05 remaining in the third period. Sarah Zeidan and Alicia Hunks assisted on the score.
Julia Benjamin was able to keep the Bison off the board the rest of the way and finished with 33 saves in the win. Abby Bassett stopped 19 shots for Nichols.
UNE is back in action at home on Tuesday night (Feb. 11) against Bowdoin at 7 p.m.
