BIDDEFORD, Maine – #9 University of New England battled back to capture a 2-1 victory over Wentworth in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's ice hockey action at the Harold Alfond Forum on Friday night.
After falling behind early in the second period, the Nor'easters (17-4-3, 13-2-2 CCC) answered with two goals within a span of 41 seconds to take the lead for good in the latter portion of the frame.

Jake McKenelley had put the Leopards (7-14-3, 3-11-3 CCC) in front 1:19 into the second, as he blocked a shot and took it the distance for his 10th goal of the year.
UNE was able to kill off a 5-on-3 power play opportunity with just over six minutes left to play to preserve the victory.
Ben Churchfield was stellar down the stretch as he made 11 of his 29 saves in the third period. Connor Carbo had 37 stops for the Wentworth.
The Nor'easters return to the ice for the final time of the regular season tomorrow in Worcester, Mass. against Becker at 1:10 p.m.
