Statistics

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Brett Stoddard had a goal and assist to help the Bowdoin College women's ice hockey team past the University of New England, 2-0, in non-conference action at the Harold Alfond Forum on Tuesday night.

The Polar Bears took the lead 8:42 into the first period. Peyton Mulhern had her shot turned away, but Stoddard came in for the rebound and lifted it with a backhand past Julia Benjamin.

The Nor'easters best chance to break through came with a 5-on-3 opportunity early in the third period, but Bowdoin was able to kill off the threat. Stoddard found Angelina Joyce for her seventh goal of the season to put the game out of reach with 6:07 left to play.

Bowdoin controlled play all night, outshooting UNE, 46-13. Meagan Miranda earned her second shutout in as many starts for the Polar Bears. Benjamin kept the Nor'easters close with a career-best 44 saves.

UNE returns to the ice to close out the regular season with a two-game series against #9 Endicott beginning on the road Friday (Feb. 21) at 7:15 p.m. The teams will be in Biddeford on Saturday (Feb. 22) at 4 p.m.
