BIDDEFORD, Maine -- University of New England women's cross country student-athlete Helen Harrod Clark and football student-athlete Paul Guglietta were honored, virtually, with the Outstanding Future Professional Award from the Maine Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (MAHPERD) during the organization's annual awards ceremony on Sunday evening (Nov. 1).
Harrod Clark, an applied exercise science major with a minor in coaching, was nominated by Katie Hawke, associate clinical professor in the Department of Exercise and Sport Performance. Guglietta is a sport and recreation management major with a minor in coaching, and was nominated by Aimee Vlachos, assistant chair of the Business Department.
For student to be considered for the award, they must have a minimum grade point average of 3.00, be involved in university organizations, and have made contributions to their major department and to their community.
