BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior McKenna Riley led the way with three individual wins as the University of New England women's swimming team captured 11 out of 14 events to defeat Elms College by a 173-79 margin on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 25) at the Campus Center Pool.

Riley touched first in the 50-back (30.74), 500-free (5:51.73), and 100-IM (1:09.34) to power the Nor'easters, who were aided by a pair of victories by Haley Griffin in the 200-free (2:05.90) and 100-free (57.75).

Five others added one triumph each for UNE, including Melissa Jakubowski (200-back; 2:25.31), Mikayla Sargent (100-breast; 1:16.84), Haleigh Kology (1,000-free; 12:23.15), Blake Boulia (50-breast; and Maggie Miller (50-free; 27.13). Jakubowski also finished a close second to Boulia in the 50-breast (-0.57), and Nicole Senechal was barely nipped by Kology in the 1,000-free (-0.23).

The group of Riley, Sargent, Olivia Roy, and Griffin started the day with a 4:23.67 to claim the 400-medley relay.

For the Blazers, Brittany North took the 100-fly (1:04.93) and 50-fly (28.85), while factoring in the team that won the 200-free relay to wrap up the meet.

The Nor'easters conclude the regular-season next Saturday at Gordon College.
