#10 Gulls shutout Nor’easters, 4-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The #10 Endicott College women's ice hockey team scored three times in the first period on its way to a 4-0 victory over the University of New England in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action on Saturday afternoon at Bourque Arena. The Gulls remained undefeated in league play at 8-0 and are 14-2-0 overall.
 
Kat Keith started the scoring with an unassisted goal midway through the opening frame. Ashlie Jones and Michaela McNamara added tallies just 50 seconds apart to give the Gulls a 3-0 lead with 3:36 left in the first period.
 
Courtney Sullivan scored her league-leading 10th goal of the year at the 9:51 mark of the third. Meghan Francis contributed her second assists and Jones helped for her second point of the day.
 
Shots favored Endicott 33-31, but UNE (9-4-1, 5-2-1 CHC) was able to gain the advantage in the final two periods. Alyssa Peterson stopped all 31 shots she face for her third shutout of the season. Julia Benjamin made 29 stops for the Nor'easters.
 
UNE is back in action in a non-conference matchup at home with Southern Maine on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m.
