BIDDEFORD, Maine – #10 Endicott College held on for a 2-1 victory over the University of New England in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) women's ice hockey play at the Harold Alfond Forum on Friday evening.
The Gulls (13-2-0, 7-0-0 CHC) pull ahead with 5:30 to play in the opening period as Morgan Sisson found Madison Huber for a power play goal, her first of the season. Endicott extended its lead to 2-0 early in the second period as Jade Meier tipped in a rebound off a shot by Alexa Pretkelis.
UNE (9-3-1, 5-1-1 CHC) closed the gap to a goal with 11:36 left in the second.
Kyra Yu fought the puck away from Jillian Gibbs on the opposite blue line and passed ahead to
Kenady Nevicosi. The sophomore deked the goaltender on a one-on-one for the short-handed score, her fifth goal of the year.

The Nor'easters kept the pressure on in the third period and held a slim 9-8 advantage in shots on goal, but were unable to tie the game.
Overall shots favored Endicott 36-17 on the night. Alyssa Peterson earned the victory with 16 saves.
Julia Benjamin kept it close with 34 stops in the loss.
The teams close out the weekend series tomorrow afternoon at Bourque Arena in Beverly, Mass. at 3 p.m.
