WATERVILLE, Maine – #8 University of New England and Colby College played to a 1-1 tie on Tuesday evening in a non-conference men's hockey match at the Alfond Rink in Waterville, Maine.
 
The Nor'easters (11-3-1) struck first on a goal from Brett Mecrones just 5:23 into the contest. Tyler Seltenreich and Alden Weller each assisted on the early score. Mike Morrissey knotted the game with 8L28 to play in the second.
 
Neither team was able to get on the board in the third. Colby (5-6-1) goaltender Andrew Tucci kept UNE off the board with nine save in the extra period. He finished with 40 stops on the night. Ben Churchfield had 41 saves for the Nor'easters.
 
UNE returns to action at home against #10 Salve Regina in a Commonwealth Coast Conference matchup on Friday, Jan/ 24 at 7 p.m.
