LEOMINSTER, Mass. -- Jake Hickey topped the field of 103 runners to lead the University of New England men's cross country team finished 3rd out fo nine squads at the Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational hosted by Fitchburg State University on Saturday (Sep. 7).

The Nor'easters scored 78 to wind up behind the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth (42) and Bridgewater State University (77), and ahead of the host Falcons (94) in fourth place.

Hickey was 26 seconds faster than the next closest runner, posting an 8K time of 25:21. Anthony Chase notched a top-10, as well, clocking 26:38 to claim 5th. Rounding out the team total was Jeff Waters (13th; 27:35), Donovan Duffy (29th; 28:43), and Alec Walker (30th; 28:45).

UNE returns to Biddeford to host its own invitational next Saturday (11:30 a.m.) at Rotary Park.
