KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine -- Paced by scores of 73 and 74 from Dylan Andrews and Tom Higgins, the University of New England claimed 2nd place out of six with a total of 311 in the UNE Men's Golf Invitational on Wednesday (Sep. 25) at Cape Arundel Golf Club.

The University of Southern Maine captured the event for a third year in-a-row, posting a 298 in each of those results. Greg Kalagias of the Huskies was one stroke better in 2018, but his 3-over-par 72 produced the same outcome -- a one-stroke victory in the field of 30 golfers.

Team runner-up for the second time in as many seasons, the Nor'easters finished comfortably in front of the other squads: Endicott College (321), the University of Maine-Farmington (324), Saint Joseph's College of Maine (326), and Maine Maritime Academy (327).

Andrews and Higgins were solo second and third, respectively, on their own ball. UNE's total was rounded out by a pair of 82's from Hunter Drew and Marcus Costa.

The Nor'easters head over to Gorham Country Club on Friday to take part in the modified-format Southern Maine Cup.
