NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich University women's rugby team defeated the University of New England 35-15 in National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) D3 action on Saturday afternoon at the NU Dog River Rugby Pitch.
 
The Cadets scored the first three tries of the game and never looked back as they opened a 20-5 lead at the half. Kennedy Mack had two first-half tries for Norwich. Fiona Thomas provided the scoring for UNE with a try in the 32^nd minute.
 
Norwich pushed its lead out to 30-5 to start the second half with scores by Angelica Green and Emma Parizo. Mariah Chase and Mariah Aubin scored back-to-back tries for the Nor'easters in the 55^th and 64^th minute to close the gap to 30-15. Parizo added her third try of the day on the final play of the second half.
 
The Nor'easters return home on Saturday, Sept. 28 against Colby-Sawyer at 4 p.m.
