BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England struck just 41 seconds into the match and never looked back, rattling off a 7-0 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) field hockey victory over Nichols College on Saturday afternoon (Sep. 21) at UNE Blue Bolt Field.

Lindsay Bruns wasted little time getting the hosts on the board, weaving through the defense for her first goal of the season. She then doubled things up in the 18th minute by converting a feed from Kendra MacDonald, and registered a tip-assist as Jillian Lachapelle scored in the 30th minute to make it 3-0.

Reanna Boulay poured it on the second half, pocketing goals in the 38th, 46th, and 54th minutes. Haylee Angster, who setup Boulay's first marker, was on the finishing end of that connection in the 57th minute when her first career goal hit the back of the net.

The Nor'easters (3-5, 2-0 CCC), who dominated the Bison in shots (37-0) and penalty corners (21-0), have now taken the last 14 meetings against Nichols (3-4, 0-2 CCC).

Liz Sargent picked up the goalkeeping decision for UNE, which visits Roger Williams University on Tuesday.

For the Bison, Brooke Misbach recorded 12 saves in just under 46 minutes of work.
