Scoring Summary

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of New England and University of Maine women's rugby teams played to a 12-12 draw in an exhibition match at Barbara J. Hazard Field on Saturday afternoon.
 
Elaina Deriso put the Black Bears in front 5-0 at the 19:24 mark of the first half. The Nor'easters answered with a try by Madison DeRosa. Mariah Chase made the conversion kick to give UNE a 7-5 lead at the half.
 
Alissa Terpstra scored a try and Maggie Aydlett put the conversion through the uprights as Maine went back in front 12-7 early in the second half. Salma Bezzat scored the final try for the Nor'easters, knotting the score 12-12. Aydlett missed a late penalty kick attempt that would have gave the Black Bears the victory.
 
Emily Ramsey led the Nor'easters with nine tackles. Ashleigh Jackson added eight for the hosts.
 
UNE returns to action on Saturday (Sept 21) on the road at Norwich. Game time is set for 11 a.m.
