WENHAM, Mass. – The University of New England women's lacrosse team rolled to a 14-3 victory over Gordon College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Tuesday afternoon.
The outcome was never in doubt as the Nor'easters (9-6, 6-1 CCC) scored the first six goals of the game and opened an 11-1 lead at halftime.
Casey Conwell and
Molly Camelo each scored three times in the first.
UNE extended the margin to 13-1 after goals by
Rebekah Guay and
Julia Benjamin to start the second half. Following two scores by Gordon (3-11, 2-5 CCC), Benjamin put in the final goal for the Nor'easters.
Greta Moore, Brenna Otte, and Molly Guthrie provided the scoring for the Scots.
Anna Stowell and
Keara Dwyer each had two goals. Conwell added three goals and three assists, while Camelo and Benjamin both scored a trio of goals.
Taylor Hopkins made three saves over the first 30 minutes to earn the win between the pipes.
Maritza Nary and
Katie Babineau added two stops each in the second half for UNE.
The Nor'easters wrap up the regular season at home on Wednesday, April 24 against Endicott at 4 p.m.
