BIDDEFORD, Maine – The #13 University of New England men's ice hockey team was unable to hold on to a two-goal lead in 2-2 draw with Nichols in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at the Harold Alfond Forum on Friday night.

Curtis Carlson cut the deficit to 2-1 with 6:23 to play in the second as he stuffed home his eighth of the year. A turnover at the blue line led to the tying goal by J.B. Baker midway through the third.
UNE had two late power-play opportunities over the final minutes of regulation, but were unable to break the draw. Each team had one shot on goal in overtime.
Ben Churchfield made 40 saves on the night, his second-highest total of the season. Brett Epp had 35 stops for the Bison.
Both teams return to action tomorrow night at Levy Rink in Harrisville, R.I. Puck drops at 6:40 p.m.
