BIDDEFORD, Maine – #10 University of New England scored twice in the third period for a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over Curry College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) men's ice hockey action at the Harold Alfond Forum on Friday night.
Down 3-2 entering the final 20 minutes of play,
Ryan Bloom scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season on a power play to tie the game with 15:47 remaining [

Chad Merrell helped setup the score with a pass from the deep corner.
Between a power play and empty net, the Colonels had an extra man for nearly the final three minutes of play, but the Nor'easters defense shut the visitors down to hold on for the win.
The night started great for UNE (8-2-0, 6-1-0 CCC) as

Watch] each scored in the first period to put the hosts in front 2-0 after a period.
Curry (8-3-1, 5-2-0 CCC) was 3-for-3 on its power play chances in the second to pull in front 3-2. Nick Magill-Diaz scored first on a 5-on-3. Just 39 seconds later, Joseph Thielen erased the deficit with his second goal of the season. Michael Snow added the go-ahead score at the 8:39 mark of the period.
Chris Jones had two assists on the night for UNE.
Shots favored the Nor'easters 42-26 on the night.
Ben Churchfield made 23 saves to earn his seventh win of the year. Justin Ketola had 38 stops for Curry.
UNE will play its final game of 2019 tomorrow night at Western New England at 7 p.m.
