Jake Hickey and
Anthony Chase captured the top two spots to lead the University of New England to a team score of 38 and the 2019 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Cross Country Championship on Saturday (Nov. 2) at Colt State Park, marking a second consecutive title for both the Nor'easters and Hickey.
UNE's total was half of the next best number, 76, which was posted by Wentworth Institute of Technology. Third-place out of the eight institutions was Nichols College at 82.
Hickey clocked an impressive 8K time of 24:50 to pace the field of 105 and earn his second
CCC Runner of the Year distinction.
Ron Ouellette was honored with his third
CCC Coach of the Year award on the men's side.
Like Hickey, Chase (26:00) garnered
All-CCC accolades for the second time in as many tries at the championship event.
Donovan Duffy (10th; 27:05) became a three-time all-conference performer with his finish, while
Chris DeYoung (11th; 27:08) and
Alec Walker (14th; 27:21) landed their first league recognition through the top-15 showings.

The Nor'easters will run again on November 16 at the NCAA Division III New England Championship on the campus of Bowdoin College.
