HARRISVILLE, R.I. – The University of New England and Nichols College played to a 1-1 tie in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) women's ice hockey action on Friday afternoon at Levy Rink.
 
Jessica Gossas-Moberg gave the Bison a 1-0 lead 7:42 into the first period. Isabella Portt and Alicia Hunks assisted on the power play score. UNE answered back later in the period as Kenady Nevicosi tallied her first of the season off assists by Tatum Gietl and Marykate Drinkwater.
 
The Nor'easters had many chances to pull ahead and outshot Nichols 33-20 over the final two periods and overtime. Both teams were poor on the power play as UNE went 0-for-6 and the Bison scored one on eight chances.
 
Abby Bassett made 41 stops for Nichols and Julia Benjamin had 29 saves for UNE.
 
Both teams return to action tomorrow night at the Harold Alfond Forum at 7 p.m.
