Statistics

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Goals by Georgia Cassidy and Ally Corbett powered No.17 Colby College in a 2-0 result against the University of New England in non-conference field hockey action Tuesday evening (Oct. 8) at UNE Blue Bolt Field.

The nationally-ranked Mules improve to 7-2 on the year, while the Nor'easters slip back to 6-7 overall. Five of UNE's setbacks have come versus top-20 competition.

Cassidy finished a cross from Myri Shodock in the 4th minute to give the visitors the edge. Colby out-shot the hosts by a 6-1 margin in the opening half.

The Nor'easters managed advantages in shots (9-7) and penalty corners (6-5) following the midway break, but Corbett extended the cushion for the Mules with an insurance tally in the 50th minute.

Emily Buckman totaled six saves for Colby. For UNE, which heads to Nichols College on Saturday, Liz Sargent denied nine shots.
