MIDDLETOWN, R.I. -- Julia Steeves netted goals in the 2nd and 3rd quarters to start the University of New England field hockey team towards a 4-0 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory over Salve Regina University on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 26) at Gaudet Field.

The Nor'easters (10-8, 9-2 CCC) secure the second seed for the upcoming league championship with the result, which was their 11th consecutive triumph over the Seahawks (10-6, 5-5 CCC).

After a scoreless 1st period, Steeves gave UNE the lead off a feed from Reanna Boulay in the 19th minute. Steeves doubled the margin in the 32nd minute, before goals by Jillian Lachapelle (47th) and Boulay (55th) capped the day.

Liz Sargent needed to make just two saves for the shutout, as the visitors finished with an 11-5 advantage in shot attempts. Casey Febus made three stops between the pipes for Salve Regina.

The Nor'easters get right back to work on Sunday (1 p.m.), when No.7 Williams College comes to Biddeford for a non-conference match.
