CHICOPEE, Mass. --
Haley Griffin racked up three individual victories as the University of New England women's swimming team booked a 178-79 triumph over Elms College on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 26) at Partyka Natatorium.
The Nor'easters (4-3) captured nine solo wins on top of both relays to best the Blazers.
Griffin took the 50-butterfly (33.98) and 100-freestyle (1:05.31) with ease, but started her day with a narrow (+0.18) result ahead of Elms' Brittany North by clocking a 1:15.85 in the 100-butterfly.
Taryn Leach added a couple of first-place showings for UNE, coming in the 50-backstroke (33.71) and 100-backstroke (1:15.49).
McKenna Riley and
Kelsey Moulton chipped in with wins in the 200-freestyle (2:24.23) and 100-breaststroke (1:29.40), respectively.
Blake Boulia edged teammate
Melissa Jakubowski with a 41.02 (+0.37) in the 50-breaststroke, and
Jamie Roy barely out-touched (+0.07) Julianne Gordon of the Blazers with a 32.26 in the 50-freestyle.
The Nor'easters will be at home next Saturday for a 1 p.m. meet against Gordon College.
