BIDDEFORD, Maine – Sierra Donahue scored her first career goal on a power-play with 2:44 remaining in regulation to lift the Suffolk University women's hockey team past the University of New England, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Harold Alfond Forum.

The teams had played even for more than 40 minutes before the winning play. Tess Adams won an offensive-zone face-off to Jesse Kennedy, who found Donahue in front for the go-ahead score.

Kristen Caporusso backstopped the victory for the Rams (10-5-1) with her second straight 32-save performance.

UNE jumped in front early as Meagan Accardi netted a one-timer from Shannon Upton at 2:30 into the opening period. Katie Babineau registered an assist on the goal.

Payton Dockus went coast-to-coast to tie the game at 1-1 on an extra-skater opportunity later in the first. Suffolk was 2-for-3 on the power-play in the contest.

Julia Benjamin had 20 stops for the Nor'easters (12-4-1), who out-shot Suffolk, 33-22.

UNE will visit the University of Southern Maine next Saturday.
