UNE grabs 48-22 victory over Molloy

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The University of New England women's rugby team defeated Molloy College, 48-22, on Sunday afternoon at Brown University for its first victory on the young season.
 
The Nor'easters took a 17-0 lead out of the gate with the help of two tries by Caitlin Paredes and never looked back. Paredes and Zoe Adams each had two tries in the opening half as UNE led 29-5 at the break.
 
Sydney Rees and Courtney Mills each had early scores in the second half as the Nor'easters built their largest lead of the day at 43-5. Adams added her third try of the game with 3:11 to play. She also had four conversions on the afternoon.
 
Jenni Laferriere, Ashleigh Jackson, and Paredes led UNE with four tackles each. The Nor'easters made 33 tackles total.
 
UNE returns home against Norwich University on Saturday, September 29 at 1 p.m.
