BANGOR, Maine -- Four rounds in the 70's left the University of New England men's golf team with day two total of 307 to remain in 5th place at the 2018 Maine Championship, which concluded Sunday (Sep. 16) at Bangor Municipal Golf Course.
The Nor'easters posted a 36-hole score of 619, finishing behind Husson University at 574 (296-278), overnight leader the University of Southern Maine at 584 (295-289), Bates College with 609 (308-301), and Colby College with 610 (309-301).
Gavin Dugas of Husson captured the individual title with a 138 total (71-67). He had trailed runner-up Jack Griffith of Colby by two entering the round, and ended up five in front.
UNE's day included 75 from
Colin Casamento (155), 76 out of
Dylan Andrews (148), and 78 from both
Michael Rich (158) and
Seth Semmelrock (158).
The Nor'easters will now gear up for the qualifying round in the 2019 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Golf Championship on Wednesday at Highfields Golf & Country Club in Grafton, Massachusetts.
