Korinne Bohunsky dialed up five goal and five assists to pace the University of New England women's lacrosse squad in a 19-9 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) triumph over Curry College on Wednesday evening (Apr. 18) at the Big Blue Turf.
The Nor'easters (5-8, 2-4 CCC) end a three-game skid with the win -- their sixth straight versus the Colonels (4-9, 1-5 CCC).
Bohunsky matched her personal-best in goals, and established a career mark for assists in a game, as the team equaled its season-high scoring output. UNE led 50-18 in shot attempts on the night.
The offense received three scores from both
Keara Dwyer and
Molly Camelo, with two more from
Megan O'Grady and
Anna Stowell.
Jolena Lampron also registered two goals, along with game-highs of eight caused turnovers, six draw controls, and seven ground balls.
Maritza Nary made six stops for the goalkeeping decision.
On the Curry side, Abby Dubel totaled four goals, four draws, and seven ground balls. Leona Stevens contributed three goals, while Amy Collard recorded 22 saves.
The Nor'easters led 4-0 after nearly 19 minutes of action, behind a pair from Camelo, and took an 8-4 cushion into the midway break. By the 15:34 mark of the 2nd half, the advantage had doubled to 14-6.
UNE stays to home to face Nichols College on Saturday (4 p.m.).
