MIDDLETOWN, R.I. -- Katie Kline notched seven goals and Christina Myers posted 18 saves to lead Salve Regina University in a 15-11 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's lacrosse decision against the University of New England on Saturday afternoon (Apr. 14) at Gaudet Field.
The Seahawks improve to 4-7 (3-2 CCC) with the win, while the Nor'easters fall to 4-8 on the season (1-4 CCC).
Kline registered back-to-back goals in the latter stages of the 1st half that gave the hosts a lead for good at 7-5. Salve Regina built the advantage up to 15-8 in the waning minutes of the 2nd period.
Kline also finished with a game-high five draw controls. Maddie Villareal, Madison Tilton, and Kiley Anderson each contributed two scores.
For UNE,
Korinne Bohunsky and
Keara Dwyer pocketed four and three goals, respectively.
Mackenzie Collins had two goals and one assist.
Maritza Nary (41 minutes) and
Taylor Hopkins combined for 10 saves.
The Nor'easters will be back at home on Wednesday (7 p.m.) to host Curry College.
