MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The #15 Hobart College men's ice hockey team scored three goals in the final period to grab a 4-2 victory over #11 University of New England on Saturday afternoon at the Middlebury College Holiday Classic.
 
Will Harrison put the Statesmen ahead 1-0 at the 12:00 mark of the first period. The Nor'easters were able to tie the score just 48 seconds later as Liam Neuman found Derek Mecrones. The score would remain 1-1 at the first intermission.
 
Dimitris Jones connected for a power-play goal in the second as UNE jumped ahead 2-1 through two periods. Brett Mecrones and Justin Dixson each assisted on the go-ahead score.
 
Hobart added a power-play goal early in the third off the stick of Andrew Longo. Zach Tyson scored unassisted later in the period and PA Martineau put in another with 8:05 to play.
 
Ben Churchfield made 43 saves for the Nor'easters. Alexander Connal stopped 32 shots on the day.
 
UNE returns to action tomorrow in the consolation game against Johnson & Wales at 1 p.m.
