WORCESTER, Mass. – The University of New England women's hockey team skated to a 4-0 victory over Becker College in Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) action at Worcester Ice Center on Saturday night.
Shannon Nadeau put the Nor'easters (3-0, 2-0 CHC) on the board with a power-play goal with 8:21 to play in the first period.
Kyra Yu made the score 2-0 in favor of UNE with a tally off the opening face-off of the second period.
Bella Crugnale and
Julianne Sheehan each added third-period scores for the final margin.
Kenday Nevicosi had two assists on the night.
Julia Benjamin turned away all 20 shots she faced to pick up her second straight shutout.
The Nor'easters tallied 48 shots on goal, with Julia Johnson making 44 saves for Becker (0-4, 0-2 CHC).
UNE will next play a weekend series against Endicott College, starting on the road (Friday) before coming to the Harold Alfond Forum next Saturday. Both games begin at 7 p.m.
