BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of New England women's hockey team picked up a 4-1 victory over Salem State University in non-conference action at the Harold Alfond Forum on Tuesday.
Kenady Nevicosi scored her team-leading seventh goal of the year at the 6:39 mark of the first period to give the Nor'easters (6-1-1) an early lead
[Watch], but Jaqueline Sindoris tied the game for the Vikings (2-5-0) just one minute later. UNE went into the first intermission ahead, though, as
Jessie Scott broke in for an unassisted tally in the closing seconds of the frame

Nevicosi added a pair of assists to her night by setting up both UNE scores in the latter portion of the second period.
Julianne Sheehan made it 3-1 with 8:32 to play in the middle stanza
[Watch], and then
Tatum Gietl increased the spread to three in the final minute of the stanza
[Watch].
Kyra Yu also got her second helper on Sheehan's marker.
UNE controlled play from the opening face-off and held a 35-19 advantage in shots.
Julia Benjamin made 18 saves on the night for the hosts, while Isabelle Woodward recorded 31 for the visitors.
These two teams will play again in five days (Sunday) in Salem, Mass. beginning at 2 p.m.
