BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The University of New England men's cross country team placed 25th out of 58 squads at the NCAA Division III New England Championship on Saturday (Nov. 10) on the campus of Bowdoin College.
Amherst College topped the field by putting four runners in the top 20 and posting a score of 65. Williams College was the only other under triple digits at 86; the Nor'easters totaled 744.
Leading the UNE charge was
Jacob Hickey with an 8K time of 26:11 to place 47th from the pack of 391 competitors that crossed the line.
Ben Wright (114th, 27:17),
Anthony Chase (142nd, 27:45),
Caleb Pulliam (211th, 28:54), and
Xander Vitarelli (234th, 29:20) completed the scoring.
The pace-setter was Sam Brunnette of Plymouth State University, winning the individual race by less than one second at 24:56.
