BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin College women's rugby team defeated the University of New England, 55-8, at Pickard Field in Brunswick, Maine on Saturday.

After a tough first half, UNE hung with Bowdoin in the second half (14-8). Zoe Adams nailed a penalty conversion for the Nor'easters, and Jenni Laferriere added a try about 10 minutes later.

Laferriere led UNE with 17 tackles, while Kierstin Stritch added 16 stops. Sydney Rees finished with 10 tackles.

Molly Petronzio led the Polar Bears with four tries. Sophie Karris and Allegra Bersani added two tries each. Liz D'Angelo made five conversion kicks.
 
The Nor'easters are back in action on Saturday at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
