GORHAM, Maine -- The University of New England men's golf team posted its lowest score of the season and ended up fifth at the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic, which wrapped up its second round on Monday (Oct. 8) at Gorham Country Club.
The Nor'easters followed up their opening-round 316 with 304, netting a 36-hole total of 620. The host Huskies rallied to win the event at 607 (310-297), while the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth at 616 (308-308), Bowdoin College at 617 (306-311), and Saint Joseph's College of Maine at 619 (317-302) filled out the top portion of the seven-team field.
Four numbers in the 70's got UNE to its Round 2 score, led by 74 from
Michael Rich (155).
Dylan Andrews placed 4th out of the 34 individuals (149) by carding a 75 on Monday,
Hunter Drew (163) came in with a 77, and
Colin Casamento (156) registered a 78.
Garrett Krisko (169) had an 81 on day two.
Bowdoin's Tom Dunleavy did just enough to hold onto his overnight lead for medalist honors with a 147 weekend (73-74).
The Nor'easters will have two weeks off before heading to Cape Cod for the New England Championship (NEIGA).
