Nor'easters compete at RWU Invitational

BRISTOL, R.I. -- Haley Griffin posted three top-5 finishes to lead the University of New England women's swimming team to a 4th-place showing out of seven teams at the Roger Williams University Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 20).

The host Hawks won the meet with 254 points, ahead of Regis College (71), the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth (52, and the Nor'easters (49).

With a time of 57.73 in the 100-freestyle, Griffin was 0.40 seconds off the pace in second position. She was 4th in the 100-backstroke (1:06.59), and 5th in the 200-freestyle (2:08.93).

The UNE rookie also started the team's 400-freestyle relay effort that touched the wall in 3rd place (4:04.06). Following Griffin was Melissa Jakubowski, Haleigh Kology, and McKenna Riley.

The Nor'easters now have two weeks off from competition before visiting Mount Holyoke College on November 3.
