WESTON, Mass. -- Regis College secured a 160-111 women's swimming decision against the University of New England on Saturday (Oct. 13) at the RC Aquatics Center.

The Pride (1-0) won 10 of the first 12 swimming events to race out to an insurmountable lead, allowing the home team to compete in the final two as exhibition swimmers. Regis posted the best times in both of those swims, as well.

Kyleigh Boatwright, Sarah Leonard, Gloria Sutton, and Jessica Zernitsky each captured a pair of events for the hosts, crossing off the 1000-freestyle, 200-freestyle, 50-backstroke, 50-freestyle, 100-freestyle, 100-backstroke, 500-freestyle, and 50-butterfly.

The Nor'easters (0-1) got two wins out of MiKayla Sargent, who touched first in the 50-breaststroke (34.61) and 100-breaststroke (1:17.03) races. She also took second in the 1000 free.

UNE was just off the pace with its 2:02.68 (-1.11) in the 200-medley relay, which was completed by Taryn Leach, Sargent, Taylor Gibson, and Haley Griffin.

Griffin was runner-up to Leonard in both the 50 back and 100 free, including 0.83 shy in the freestyle. Haleigh Kology and Kelsey Moulton were also second in the 500 free and 50 free, respectively.

The Nor'easters head to the Roger Williams University Invitational next Saturday.
