BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Kyra Yu notched a power-play goal midway through the 3rd period to give the University of New England a 1-0 victory in women's ice hockey action Saturday afternoon (Jan. 6) at the Harold Alfond Forum.

The Nor'easters (5-4-5) exited their own zone with a cross-ice pass from Tatum Gietl to Yu, who eluded an opponent and carried possession up the right wall before flipping a shot from the top of the circle off the inside of the left post.

Caty Flagg needed 17 saves to earn the shutout in goal for UNE, which will make the trip to Colby College on Tuesday (7 p.m.).

Madison Rigsby made 42 stops for the Hawks (2-10-2).
